A word from the principal…

The Bible counsels us to “Train up a child in the way he should go,” then immediately holds out to us the encouraging promise that “when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
Our sincere desire at Canterbury is to take this important command and start children in their formative elementary years on that very path which leads them in “the way they should go.” The teaching and training of children of necessity includes the development of character. At Canterbury, in addition to teaching respect for adults and peers, we teach kindness, manners, organizational skills, self-discipline, responsibility, and solid academics.
Canterbury Christian School is distinctively Christian. A short chapel service begins each morning which “sets the tone” for the day. The children memorize one Bible verse each week and receive daily Bible lessons in class. For over thirty years, A Beka has furnished Canterbury with outstanding curriculum and textbook materials – setting the pathway of learning on a firm foundation of academic excellence. Its scope-and-sequence is very thorough, leaving no holes in the process of learning.
Canterbury has been gifted with a very warm and supportive social setting – a critical element for children growing through the developmental hurdles of life on their way to maturity. Your children are truly a “gift from God” and we treasure the opportunity to help them grow and learn in a Christian environment.
Sincerest regards,
